Lightning sign Kole Lind to a professional tryout
The AHL veteran forward joins Tampa Bay on a PTO after 70 games with the Texas Stars last season.
The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Kole Lind to a professional tryout agreement, vice president and general manager Julien BriseBois announced Friday.
Lind, 27, spent last season with the AHL's Texas Stars, putting up 11 goals and 35 points in 70 games along with 95 penalty minutes. He is a well-traveled minor league forward at this point: 454 career AHL games between Texas, Coachella Valley, Charlotte and Utica, with 122 goals and 319 points, 42 power-play goals and 25 game-winners.
His playoff resume stands out more. Lind has played 63 Calder Cup Playoff games and produced 24 goals and 59 points, including eight power-play goals.
The 6-foot-1, 192-pound Shaunavon, Saskatchewan native has also gotten a taste of the NHL, 31 games split between Vancouver and Seattle, with two goals and eight points.
The Canucks drafted him in the second round, 33rd overall, in 2017.
A PTO gets him into camp without a contract, which is the standard route for a forward trying to play his way into an organization ahead of the 2026-27 season.
