Jets seek steadier play as Blues open five-game homestand

Winnipeg, 2-0-1 in the division, opens a two-game road trip at Enterprise Center after Saturday's 3-2 loss to Carolina.

Winnipeg visits St. Louis on Tuesday, Oct. 20, seeking a more consistent performance after Saturday's 3-2 defeat against Carolina. The meeting at Enterprise Center begins a two-game road trip for the Jets and a five-game homestand for the Blues.

The Jets have earned a 2-0-1 record against Central Division opponents this season. They continue their divisional trip in Dallas on Thursday.

Cole Perfetti said after Monday's practice that Winnipeg's strong opening period against Carolina showed what it could do, but that the team needed to sustain its approach throughout a game. Tuesday's morning skate will provide a clearer indication of coach Scott Arniel's lineup plans.

Winnipeg recalled Brayden Yager from the Manitoba Moose on Monday and placed Josh Morrissey on injured reserve, retroactive to Oct. 7. Yager had five goals and four assists in the AHL at the time of his recall, including Sunday's overtime winner. Arniel praised the forward's training camp.

St. Louis is also looking for a response after losing 5-2 in Nashville on Saturday. The Jets' preview lists Logan Mailloux, Tyler Tucker, Alexey Toropchenko and Ross Johnston among the Blues' injured players.

Tuesday is the first of four meetings between the clubs this season. St. Louis won last season's opener 1-0 before Winnipeg won the remaining three games, two by a single goal.
