The Winnipeg Jets used Wednesday’s practice in Dallas to work on their finishing before Thursday’s road game against the Stars. Players began skating about half an hour before the scheduled 1 p.m. start at American Airlines Center, working with skills coach Matt Larke.

Winnipeg is winless in three games after Tuesday’s 2-1 defeat in St. Louis. The Jets generated 33 shots but scored once, leaving them with 24 goals through nine games. Seven of those games have been decided by one goal.

Coach Scott Arniel said he wanted players to stay with their defensive habits while getting to areas where rebounds and other scoring chances develop. He said the team had created good opportunities against the Blues but still needed to finish them.

Forward Isak Rosén is looking for his first goal of the season. He told the Jets’ website that getting to difficult areas around the net was a priority, while maintaining possession in the offensive zone would help create chances.

Thursday’s game ends Winnipeg’s road trip before the club returns home for the NHL Heritage Classic weekend.
