Hertl and Eichel each record four points as Vegas beats Seattle 6-2

Victor Olofsson scored twice before leaving with an injury after a third-period boarding hit.

The Vegas Golden Knights built a five-goal lead through two periods and defeated the Seattle Kraken 6-2 at Climate Pledge Arena on Tuesday, Oct. 6. Tomas Hertl finished with two goals and two assists, while Jack Eichel contributed a goal and three assists.

Victor Olofsson also scored twice but left injured after Ben Meyers hit him into the boards at 8:03 of the third period. Meyers received a five-minute boarding major and a game misconduct. NHL.com's initial report did not provide an update on Olofsson's condition.

Olofsson opened the scoring at 13:02 of the first period, redirecting a shot by Rasmus Andersson. Hertl added a power-play goal at 15:58. Mark Stone then scored short-handed at 1:43 of the second, and Olofsson made it 4-0 at 13:07. Eichel's unassisted goal at 19:29 completed Vegas's scoring in the period.

Joey Daccord faced 21 shots and conceded five goals before Philipp Grubauer took over for the third period. Grubauer finished with six saves on seven shots.

Shane Wright put Seattle on the scoreboard at 4:52 of the third. Hertl scored his second power-play goal at 9:43, and Jared McCann answered on a Seattle power play at 15:00. Kaapo Kakko assisted on both Kraken goals.

Carter Hart stopped 25 of 27 shots as Vegas improved to 3-1-0 through 4 games with its second consecutive win. Seattle's record fell to 2-2-0.
