Flames captain Mikael Backlund day-to-day with upper-body injury
Coach Ryan Huska says the Calgary captain is day-to-day after leaving the closing minutes of Sunday's win over Carolina.
Calgary Flames captain Mikael Backlund is dealing with an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day, coach Ryan Huska said Tuesday, according to Sportsnet.
Backlund did not finish Sunday’s game against Carolina. He was hurt on a hit by William Carrier late in Calgary’s 3-2 victory.
He sat out Tuesday’s practice, and his availability for Thursday’s game against Minnesota remains uncertain, CBS Sports reported.
The 37-year-old has a goal and an assist through eight appearances this season.
