Flames Begin Four-Game Preseason Against Kraken on Sunday
Calgary hosts Seattle at 6 p.m. MT in the first of four exhibitions before the clubs meet again on opening night Oct. 1.
The Calgary Flames begin their four-game preseason schedule at home against the Seattle Kraken on Sunday. Puck drop at Scotiabank Saddledome is 6 p.m. MT, and the game will stream through CalgaryFlames.com and the Flames App within the club's broadcast territory.
Calgary has two home exhibitions and two road games before hosting Seattle again to open the regular season Oct. 1. With a shorter camp, coach Ryan Huska said he intends to keep practice groups and lines together to build chemistry. NHL veterans with at least 100 games are limited to two preseason appearances under the new rules.
Forward Sam Honzek is expected to play his first game since an injury ended his season last November. The 21-year-old has skated with captain Mikael Backlund and Joel Farabee during camp, according to the Flames' game preview.
Seattle opened its exhibition schedule Saturday with a 4-2 win over Vancouver. Joey Daccord stopped all 14 shots he faced before Nikke Kokko took over in goal.
