The Anaheim Ducks recalled defenceman Travis Mitchell from the San Diego Gulls on Friday, Oct. 23, the club announced. Anaheim also placed Pavel Mintyukov on injured reserve with a lower-body injury.

Mitchell began the season with the Ducks and played five NHL games before his assignment to San Diego. He then appeared in four games for the Gulls, without recording a point.

Anaheim signed Mitchell to a one-year, two-way contract on July 2. His recall brings him back to the NHL club after his recent spell with its AHL affiliate.
