Tommy Novak scored twice in the opening six minutes and Sidney Crosby added two goals as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-2 on Saturday at Crypto.com Arena.

Novak put Pittsburgh ahead at 1:52 of the first period and doubled the lead at 5:10, converting a rebound on each goal. Corey Perry got one back for Los Angeles before Egor Chinakhov scored on a Pittsburgh power play late in the period.

Alex Laferriere scored on the power play early in the second to make it 3-2. Los Angeles appeared to tie the game later in the period, but Pittsburgh won an offside challenge.

Crosby made it 4-2 at 17:13 of the second when Evgeni Malkin's shot deflected in off him. It was Crosby's 1,772nd regular-season point, moving him past Marcel Dionne into sixth place on the NHL career list. Crosby added his second goal with 1:16 left in the third and the Los Angeles net empty.

Malkin had three assists, and Sergei Murashov made 26 saves for Pittsburgh. The Penguins ended a four-game skid and a run of seven straight road losses.
