Penguins Foundation announces $1 million in medical debt relief for veterans
About 400 local veterans will benefit from the foundation’s partnership with ForgiveCo.
The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation announced Friday that it is working with ForgiveCo to cancel $1 million in medical debt for about 400 local veterans.
Proceeds from the 50/50 raffle at Thursday’s Military Appreciation Game helped fund the effort. The Penguins played the Boston Bruins at PPG Paints Arena that night.
ForgiveCo will buy and cancel the debt. Veterans do not have to apply. Those selected at random will hear by email, text and letter.
