Canucks place Filip Chytil on injured reserve

The Vancouver forward will miss Saturday’s game against Toronto.

Filip Chytil has been placed on injured reserve by the Vancouver Canucks and will miss Saturday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The club’s website and NHL.com confirmed the move Friday.

Chytil did not practise Friday while Vancouver assessed an aggravation of the upper-body injury that kept him out of its first eight games. Sportsnet reported that he took a hit from San Jose defenceman Darnell Nurse on Thursday.

Chytil made his season debut on Oct. 15 and has two assists in seven games, according to NHL.com.
