Canadiens’ Reinbacher and Kapanen to make season debuts against Sabres

David Reinbacher and Oliver Kapanen will make their first appearances of the season when the Montreal Canadiens host the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, Oct. 17. The game at Bell Centre begins at 7 p.m. ET.

Montreal announced the lineup changes Saturday, according to Sportsnet. Reinbacher takes Adam Engstrom’s place on defence and is expected to skate alongside Arber Xhekaj.

Kapanen returns after a lower-body injury kept him out of the opening games. He replaces Owen Beck, with NHL.com listing a projected line alongside Kirby Dach and Jake Evans.

The centre went without a point in three preseason appearances before being sidelined, according to the NHL’s Saturday status report.
