Mike Matheson will miss the Montreal Canadiens’ game against the Buffalo Sabres on Tuesday, Oct. 13, because of a lower-body injury. Sportsnet reported that the club listed the defenceman as day to day.

Owen Beck is set to make his first NHL appearance of the season. Montreal recalled the forward from the Laval Rocket on Monday after he recorded one assist in four AHL games.

Sportsnet reported that Jacob Fowler would make his third consecutive start in goal, with Jakub Dobes scheduled to play against Washington on Wednesday. Fowler made 30 saves in Montreal’s shootout win over Detroit on Saturday.
