Brady Tkachuk pursues unprecedented third straight hat trick against Seattle
The Florida forward can become the first NHL player with hat tricks in three consecutive games when the Panthers host the Kraken on Saturday.
Brady Tkachuk will chase an NHL first when Florida hosts Seattle at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m. ET: a hat trick in a third consecutive game.
NHL.com reports that no player has completed that sequence. Its historical review counts 65 players who have scored at least three goals in consecutive games, with 84 such streaks across league history.
Eight players have followed consecutive hat tricks with a two-goal game, according to the league. Teemu Selanne was the latest, coming within one goal of the feat for Winnipeg in March 1993. Keith Tkachuk, Brady’s father, was a rookie teammate of Selanne’s that season.
Brady scored three times in Tuesday’s victory at Columbus and supplied all of Florida’s goals in Thursday’s 3-2 overtime win against Vancouver. His two natural hat tricks put him alongside Petri Skriko and Cy Denneny as the only NHL players to achieve that feat in successive games.
Seattle arrives for the final stop of a five-game Eastern trip after collecting seven of eight available points in its first four games, according to the Field Level Media preview carried by CBS Sports.
