Andrew Campbell Enters First Full Season as Belleville Head Coach

Andrew Campbell will begin the 2026-27 season as the full-time head coach of the Belleville Senators after signing a three-year contract on June 23.

Campbell joined Belleville as an assistant in 2024-25 and replaced David Bell as interim head coach on Dec. 17, 2025. He guided the club to a 17-21-5-1 record in 44 games.

His first weekend in charge brought three games in three days and four standings points. Belleville lost in overtime at Rochester and Toronto before beating the Marlies 8-4 at home, tying a franchise record for goals in a game.

Before joining Ottawa's organization, Campbell spent three seasons as an assistant with the Hamilton and Brantford Bulldogs. He worked with Belleville general manager Matt Turek and Ottawa general manager Steve Staios there and helped the Bulldogs win the 2022 OHL championship.

Campbell also brings extensive AHL experience as a player. The former defenseman appeared in 719 AHL games for Manchester, Portland, Toronto, Tucson and Rockford, recording 149 points and serving four seasons as a captain. He also played 42 NHL games.

The three-year agreement gives Belleville continuity as Campbell leads his first full season and continues preparing prospects for roles in Ottawa.
