Wolf Pack to Retire Brad Smyth's No. 11
Hartford's all-time leading scorer becomes the second player in club history to have his number raised to the rafters.
Brad Smyth's No. 11 is going to the XL Center rafters. The Hartford Wolf Pack announced that Smyth will be honoured in an on-ice ceremony before the club's game against the Syracuse Crunch on Mar. 6, 2027.
He becomes the second player in Wolf Pack history to have his number retired, joining former teammate Ken Gernander, whose No. 12 already hangs in Hartford.
The numbers behind the decision are not close. Smyth is the franchise's all-time leader in goals (184) and points (365) across parts of six seasons, and his 345 games rank second in club history. He was part of Hartford's 2000 Calder Cup championship team, putting up 13 goals and 10 assists in that postseason run.
His league-wide résumé holds up too. Smyth sits 13th all-time in AHL goals with 326 and 33rd in points with 667. He led the AHL in goals twice, including a 50-goal season with Hartford in 2000-01, was a two-time First Team AHL All-Star during his time with the Wolf Pack and represented the club at the 2001 AHL All-Star Classic. He was inducted into the AHL Hall of Fame in 2019.
