Wild and Red Baron to Host 10th Girls' Hockey Weekend in December

On-ice clinics at TRIA Rink on Dec. 6 and the Wild's Dec. 12 home game against Winnipeg anchor the event, with registration opening Nov. 9.

The Minnesota Wild are bringing back Girls' Hockey Weekend for a 10th year, again partnering with Red Baron Pizza and Minnesota Hockey on a pair of December dates.

The first is a day of on-ice clinics at TRIA Rink on Sunday, Dec. 6. The clinics are open to girls registered in the 6U, 8U, 10U and 12U age groups, and each session is capped at 60 players.

The second comes six days later, when the Wild host the Winnipeg Jets at Grand Casino Arena on Saturday, Dec. 12, with puck drop at 2:30 p.m. The club says several parts of that game will celebrate girls' and women's hockey, with players from those programs taking part in in-game and intermission features such as the Fist Bump Tunnel, Bench Buddies and Zamboni rides.

Clinic registration opens Monday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. The $105 fee covers a Girls Hockey Weekend Wild jersey, a Wild hair accessory, a post-clinic pizza party with Red Baron and a ticket to the Jets game. Clinic participants also get an exclusive offer on extra tickets for Dec. 12, which the Wild say are limited and subject to availability.
