Flyers goaltender Dan Vladar is day to day with an upper-body injury after leaving Tuesday's preseason game against Boston, coach Rick Tocchet told reporters Wednesday, per Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia.
Vladar was hurt in the first period on a collision with Bruins forward Tanner Jeannot. He was favouring his right arm afterward.
The timing is awkward. Philadelphia opens the regular season next Wednesday at home against Pittsburgh, and Vladar arrived at camp as the goalie coming off the best year of his career: 29-14-7 with a 2.42 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage while helping the Flyers reach the playoffs for the first time since 2020. They beat the Penguins in the first round before losing to Carolina.
The Czech goaltender, previously with Calgary, signed a five-year extension worth $27.5 million with the Flyers over the summer.
Joseph Woll, acquired from Toronto in the offseason, is the other goalie on Philadelphia's roster.
