Tucson Roadrunners Re-Sign Forward Ty Tullio to One-Year AHL Deal
The 24-year-old forward returns for a second season in Tucson after setting career highs in assists and plus-minus last season.
The Tucson Roadrunners signed forward Ty (Tyler) Tullio to a one-year AHL contract on August 14, 2026, bringing back a player who set career-best marks in his first season with the club. Pro Hockey Rumors described the move as a re-signing and reported that Tullio will enter his second season with the Roadrunners.
Tullio, 24, recorded 23 points on nine goals and 14 assists in 50 games with Tucson during the 2025-26 season, setting career highs in assists and in plus-minus at plus-5. He added 38 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 185-pound Detroit native had previously played for Calgary, Rochester and Bakersfield across his first three AHL seasons. He also played professionally in Slovakia in 2020-21, posting 13 points on four goals and nine assists, with 77 penalty minutes, in 19 games for HK 32 Liptovsky Mikulas of the Slovak Extraliga.
"Tyler proved to be a versatile addition to our forward group, and we look for him to expand on his contributions this season," said John Ferguson, general manager of the Tucson Roadrunners, in the club's announcement.
Across four AHL seasons, Tullio has totaled 85 points and 128 penalty minutes in 210 games. He has also appeared in six Calder Cup Playoff games with the Wranglers and Condors. In his 2022-23 rookie season with Bakersfield, he set career highs in goals, power-play goals, points and games played, finishing with 26 points, including 13 goals and three power-play goals, in 63 games.
Before turning pro, Tullio played three seasons with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL, where he totaled 194 points in 187 games after being selected 11th overall in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection. In his final junior season in 2021-22, he led Oshawa with 86 points, including 42 goals.
The Edmonton Oilers selected Tullio in the fifth round, 126th overall, of the 2020 NHL Draft. Buffalo acquired him on July 5, 2024, in the trade that sent Ryan McLeod to the Sabres in exchange for Matt Savoie.
Tucson is the AHL affiliate of the Utah Mammoth.
