Tucson Roadrunners hire Andrew Agozzino as assistant coach
The prolific AHL scorer joins the Utah Mammoth affiliate's bench days after retiring as a player.
The Tucson Roadrunners have named Andrew Agozzino an assistant coach, the American Hockey League club announced. The Roadrunners are the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Utah Mammoth.
The move comes days after Agozzino announced his retirement from professional hockey on July 21, 2026, closing a playing career that spanned more than a decade. He shifts directly into a coaching role rather than continuing on the ice.
Agozzino ranks among the most productive forwards in AHL history. He appeared in 847 regular-season games, 29th all-time in the league, recording 662 points on 284 goals and 378 assists. He posted eight 20-goal seasons and earned three AHL All-Star Classic selections.
The forward spent the 2025-26 season in the Utah organization, playing the majority of the year in Tucson. He was recognized twice as the AHL's IOA/American Specialty Man of the Year, winning the award with San Jose in 2022-23 and again with Tucson in 2025-26.
Over his career, Agozzino skated for a number of AHL clubs while earning NHL time with several organizations. He frequently wore a letter during his AHL career, captaining the San Jose Barracuda and serving as an alternate captain in Tucson.
Agozzino now joins the Roadrunners staff as the club prepares for the 2026-27 season under the Utah Mammoth banner.
