Three Texas Stars prospects with a path to Dallas

Emil Hemming, Tristan Bertucci and Rémi Poirier are three Texas Stars prospects who could move closer to NHL roles this season, according to The Hockey News. None is guaranteed a place in Dallas out of training camp.

Hemming, the 29th pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, finished last season with five scoreless AHL games after producing 63 points in 46 regular-season games for Barrie of the OHL. The 20-year-old forward is beginning his first full professional season. The Hockey News listed him among the possible in-season call-ups if injuries create an opening.

Bertucci, a second-round pick in 2023, recorded five goals and 24 points in 63 games during his first full AHL season. The 21-year-old defenseman could enter the recall conversation if Dallas needs depth on the blue line.

Poirier, 24, appeared in 52 games for Texas last season, posting a 2.61 goals-against average and .912 save percentage. He remains in search of his NHL debut and is signed through the 2026-27 season.

Training camp will determine whether any of the three earns an immediate role. Each also gives Dallas an internal option if injuries or roster needs create an opening during the season.
