Sabres get Timmins and Kulich back against Blue Jackets

Conor Timmins is set for his season debut, while Jiri Kulich is expected to return after missing five games.

The Buffalo Sabres are set to get defenceman Conor Timmins and forward Jiri Kulich back against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday at KeyBank Center. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. ET.

Timmins has been out since hurting his lower body in Buffalo’s final preseason game on Sept. 26. Coach Lindy Ruff said Timmins will take Louis Crevier’s spot on the third defence pair. Kulich is expected to replace Ryan McLeod after missing five games with a concussion.

Jet Greaves will start in goal for Columbus, according to NHL.com. He won the teams’ first meeting of the season, making 23 saves in a 6–3 victory on Oct. 1.
