Matthew Knies has gone 13 games without a goal since scoring twice in his Columbus Blue Jackets debut. He faces those same Sabres on Friday when Columbus visits KeyBank Center at 7 p.m. ET.
Knies opened his Columbus account on the power play and added a second goal on a redirection in the Blue Jackets’ 6–3 home win over Buffalo on Oct. 1. He also had an assist and became the first player in franchise history to score twice in his Columbus debut.
He has put 16 shots on net and picked up three assists in the 13 games since that opener. The most recent assist came Thursday, when he helped set up the tying goal late in the third period of a 2–1 shootout win over the Dallas Stars.
