Rangers sign Luke Glendening to one-year, $850,000 contract
The veteran forward joins New York after playing for New Jersey and Philadelphia last season.
Luke Glendening has a new NHL club. The New York Rangers announced a one-year contract with the forward on Thursday, Oct. 22, and NHL.com reported that the deal is worth $850,000.
The 37-year-old played for both New Jersey and Philadelphia in 2025-26, finishing the regular season with two goals and seven assists across 70 games. He added one goal in 10 playoff appearances for the Flyers, according to the Rangers.
Faceoffs are one of his strengths: the club puts his success rate at 57.5 per cent since the start of 2020-21. That ranks ninth in the league among players who have taken at least 1,000 draws in that span.
Glendening entered the NHL with Detroit as an undrafted free agent in 2013, following four seasons at the University of Michigan.
