Rangers put Korpisalo on injured reserve, recall Garand
Joonas Korpisalo is week to week with a lower-body injury; Dylan Garand returns from Hartford to back up Igor Shesterkin.
The New York Rangers placed goaltender Joonas Korpisalo on injured reserve with a lower-body injury and recalled Dylan Garand from Hartford of the AHL on Thursday, Oct. 1, according to NHL.com.
Korpisalo is week to week. Garand will back up Igor Shesterkin against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.
The Rangers' home opener begins at 7 p.m. ET and starts their first back-to-back of the season.
