PWHL Hamilton Players Voice Confidence Ahead of Debut

PWHL Hamilton's players are expressing confidence that the expansion club can compete immediately and build lasting support in its new market.
Brianne Jenner told Hamilton Spectator columnist Scott Radley that elite women's hockey has been ready for a larger stage, with investment in marketing, infrastructure and promotion now giving the game that opportunity.
Defender Zoe Boyd described the league's growth as a cultural movement. She said some spectators arrive primarily to support women's sports, then become hockey fans after seeing the skill, physicality and competitiveness of the league.
Hamilton native Kayla Vespa pointed to the crowd of more than 16,000 at TD Coliseum for a PWHL Takeover Tour game in January as evidence of local demand. She also recalled a recent encounter outside a Stoney Creek arena with a father who told her he had bought season tickets for himself and his four daughters.
The comments came nearly two months before Hamilton's first training camp. The roster includes experienced players such as Jenner, Boyd and Vespa as the club prepares for its inaugural season.
