Ottawa challenge overturns Devils goal for Glass interference
The NHL ruled that Cody Glass pushed Linus Ullmark’s pad before Jesper Boqvist scored at 11:58 of the third period.
Ottawa successfully challenged a New Jersey goal at 11:58 of the third period of Monday’s game after video review found goaltender interference by Cody Glass.
The NHL said Glass pushed Linus Ullmark’s pad, freeing a puck the Ottawa goaltender had covered before Jesper Boqvist scored. The review overturned the original call and disallowed New Jersey’s goal.
The league cited Rule 69.3, which prohibits an attacking player from making contact with a goaltender in his crease before a goal, including incidental contact. It also cited the Coach’s Challenge standard in Rule 38.1, which requires conclusive video evidence to overturn the on-ice decision.
