What's newConnor McDavid can extend his season-opening point streak to 18 games against Vancouver.

The Edmonton Oilers host the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday at Rogers Place in their third meeting of the season. Edmonton lists puck drop at 9 p.m. MT.

Vancouver won the opener 6-5 in overtime. Edmonton answered with a 9-7 win in Vancouver two nights later, leaving the teams with a win apiece and 27 goals between them.

The Oilers are 11-3-3 and have lost two straight, including Thursday’s 5-4 loss to Anaheim to open a four-game homestand. Vancouver enters at 3-14-1 after a 6-2 loss to Winnipeg, its fourth straight defeat.

Connor McDavid has recorded a point in all 17 games to open the season, with 10 goals and 34 assists. A point Saturday would give him the longest season-opening point streak by an active NHL player, moving him past his own 17-game run in 2021–22 and William Nylander’s in 2023–24.
