Connor McDavid is set to make his 800th regular-season NHL appearance when the Edmonton Oilers visit the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Crypto.com Arena.

Edmonton enters at 4-0-1 and is seeking a fifth consecutive win to complete a three-game road trip through California. The club lists the start time as 8:30 p.m. MT.

McDavid has three goals and 10 assists through five games this season. His assist in Saturday’s 3-1 victory over San Jose took him to 13 points, the league’s highest total entering Monday’s games, according to Edmonton’s preview.

The Oilers’ report also highlighted McDavid’s influence on his teammates. Evan Bouchard credited the captain with helping his development and confidence, while coach Mike Babcock pointed to the example McDavid sets through his daily preparation.

Owen Michaels gives Edmonton a right-handed option at centre. He won 10 of 12 faceoffs against San Jose and has scored twice through his first five professional games, the club reported.

Los Angeles is looking for its first victory after four games. Edmonton has earned at least one point in each of its first five games.
