Jared McCann is expected to be unavailable for approximately 10 weeks because of a lower-body injury, the Seattle Kraken announced Sunday. He has been placed on injured reserve.

McCann was injured during Thursday’s 5-3 win over the Utah Mammoth and missed Saturday’s 5-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild. The forward has three goals and five assists in 11 games this season.

Kaapo Kakko moved up to McCann’s spot on the top line in Saturday’s game. The extended recovery timetable gives Seattle a longer stretch to navigate without McCann than the single-game absence announced Saturday.
