Brandon Hagel won Tampa Bay’s fan vote for October’s Bolts Best Player of the Month, the Lightning announced Friday. He is the first winner of the club award this season.

Hagel finished October with 16 points. He recorded at least two points four times and scored two game-winning goals. In a 5–3 win over the New York Islanders on Oct. 10, Hagel broke a tie with 1:44 left in the third period and completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal.

The Lightning said Hagel has a point in every home game this season. Tampa Bay set a franchise record by winning its first eight home games, reaching 8–0–0 with a 4–1 win over Chicago on Thursday.
