Devon Levi will start for the Edmonton Oilers at Honda Center on Wednesday, Oct. 7, coach Mike Babcock said Tuesday in the club’s official preview. Edmonton begins a three-game California trip against the Anaheim Ducks, who eliminated the Oilers in six games in last season’s first round.

Babcock also named Tristan Jarry as Saturday’s starter against San Jose. He has yet to choose a goalie for next Tuesday’s game in Los Angeles.

Jason Dickinson could return when the trip begins, Babcock said, after the centre completed two strong practices. His place in Wednesday’s lineup remains unconfirmed.

Edmonton enters the trip at 2-0-1 after playing three games in five days. The Oilers rested Sunday and practised Monday and Tuesday.

Vasily Podkolzin said the playoff loss adds an edge to the matchup. “It’s something we did not finish last year,” he said. Edmonton and Anaheim are scheduled to meet four times this season.

Wednesday’s game starts at 8 p.m. MT, with coverage on Sportsnet.
