Winnipeg Jets defenceman Josh Morrissey wore a regular jersey at Saturday’s practice and worked with the top power-play unit, a step toward returning from an injury that has kept him out since Oct. 7.

Jets coach Scott Arniel said Morrissey was getting closer to a return and that the team would see how he responded to the heavier workload. Arniel said the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning would be decided that day.

Morrissey had three assists in four games before he was injured against the Colorado Avalanche. He was still wearing a non-contact jersey when he practised with the team Monday in Montreal.
