The Carolina Hurricanes play their first road game of the season on Saturday, Oct. 3, visiting the Philadelphia Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena. Puck drop is 7:00 p.m. ET, and the game is on the Hurricanes Hockey Network.

It closes a weekend back-to-back for Carolina against Metropolitan Division opponents. The Canes flew to Philadelphia after Friday's 5-2 loss to the Washington Capitals, in which Washington built a 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes. Sebastian Aho scored on the power play and Logan Stankoven added a third-period goal, but the Canes never got closer than three.

That followed Tuesday's season opener, a 1-0 overtime loss to the Florida Panthers, which came after the Hurricanes raised their 2026 Stanley Cup banner.

The Flyers are 0-1-1 and sit tied for sixth in the Metropolitan Division with one point. Their last game was a 3-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils on Thursday.

Pyotr Kochetkov is expected to start for Carolina after Brandon Bussi played the first two games, according to the club's preview.
