Mikael Granlund ended Anaheim's home opener with a power-play goal at 4:14 of overtime, giving the Ducks a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers at Honda Center on Sunday, Oct. 4.

Granlund tipped in Leo Carlsson's pass with 46 seconds remaining. Cutter Gauthier supplied the other assist, completing a three-point night that included both of Anaheim's regulation goals. Carlsson assisted on all three Ducks goals.

Brad Marchand forced overtime in his season debut for Florida. With Jacob Markstrom off for an extra attacker, Marchand put away a rebound at 18:10 of the third period to make it 2-2. He was returning after offseason surgery for an injury.

Gauthier scored on the power play at 16:18 of the first period. Carter Verhaeghe answered 51 seconds later, finishing a rebound after a chance created by Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett. Gauthier restored Anaheim's lead 47 seconds into the second period, again on the power play, with Lars Eller serving a cross-checking penalty.

Lukas Dostal stopped 29 of 31 shots for Anaheim, while Markstrom made 18 saves on 21 shots. The Ducks improved to 2-0-0 through two games; Florida was 1-0-2 through three. Anaheim has now won 11 consecutive home openers, extending its club record.
