Golden Knights honour first responders at One October practice

Vegas invited emergency workers to a private skate at City National Arena while remembering victims of the 2017 mass shooting.

The Vegas Golden Knights invited local first responders to a private practice at City National Arena on Thursday, Oct. 1, to thank them for their work and remember the victims of the 2017 mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip.

Practices are usually open to the public. Coach Ryan Craig said the special session gave the team an opportunity to recognise emergency workers and remember the victims and their families, nine years after the shooting.

William Karlsson, who has been with Vegas since its inaugural season, said the anniversary remains difficult to comprehend and that the organisation continues to honour and remember those affected.
