Golden Knights face Ducks with balanced defence workload
Vegas hosts Anaheim at 7 p.m. PT Friday after Ryan Craig credited his three defence pairs in the opening win.
The Vegas Golden Knights host the Anaheim Ducks at T-Mobile Arena on Friday, Oct. 2, at 7 p.m. PT. Vegas enters its second game at 1-0-0, while Anaheim begins its regular season.
Coach Ryan Craig highlighted the contributions of all three Vegas defence pairs after Tuesday's 5-2 win against the Chicago Blackhawks. The club's morning-skate report said their similar workloads helped keep the players fresh, with assistant coach John Stevens managing the defence.
Jack Eichel had a goal and two assists in that victory. Trevor Connelly scored in his NHL debut, and Carter Hart made 24 saves on 26 shots.
Friday is also Vegas's 9th Island Knight, celebrating the Hawaiian and Pacific Islander community in Southern Nevada. The club plans a pregame hula performance and a virtual surfing competition on the plaza.
The game airs on Scripps Sports, including The Spot-Vegas 34 locally, and streams on KnightTime+. Radio coverage is on X 107.9 and 105.7 Maxima.
