ESPN Films Announces 'Coach Osh,' a 30 for 30 Short on T.J. Oshie and His Father

The 30 for 30 short follows Stanley Cup champion T.J. Oshie and his father, Tim "Coach" Oshie, after the elder Oshie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Alzheimer's disease.

ESPN Films on Thursday announced *Coach Osh*, a 30 for 30 short documentary about Stanley Cup champion T.J. Oshie and his father, Tim "Coach" Oshie. The film is streaming now on the ESPN App, and the Washington Capitals shared the announcement.

ESPN Films said the documentary follows father and son after Tim Oshie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Alzheimer's disease. It begins with the game the two shared and widens into a look at family, memory and legacy, including T.J.'s own uncertainty over whether he carries the gene linked to the disease.

"My dad was there for me every step of the way growing up, and I wouldn't have had the career I did without him. Getting to share the Stanley Cup with him is something I'll always be grateful for," Oshie said. "This film is about a lot more than hockey. It's about my dad, our family and the memories we made together. I hope sharing our story can mean something to other families who have been affected by Alzheimer's."

Griffin Nash and Clifford Nash directed the film, which was produced by ESPN Films, Nash Pictures and Page 1 Entertainment. Seth Rogen and Lauren Miller Rogen are among its executive producers. The couple co-founded Hilarity for Charity, a nonprofit that supports families affected by Alzheimer's disease through caregiver support, brain health education and advocacy.
