ESPN details opening night NHL coverage from Studio W
The Point starts at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday before a three-game slate; ESPN has named the crews for each game and its Thursday streaming doubleheader.
ESPN will start its 2026-27 NHL coverage Tuesday with The Point at 4 p.m. ET from Studio W, followed by a three-game opening night schedule, the network said in its latest programming announcement. Steve Levy will host the studio show with Mark Messier and P.K. Subban before, between and after the games.
ESPN says Studio W can change virtual sets in real time and place three-dimensional graphics alongside its analysts. The network says the production space contains more than 148 million pixels and more than 9,200 square feet of LED displays.
The Carolina Hurricanes host the Florida Panthers at 5 p.m. ET after Carolina raises its Stanley Cup banner. Bob Wischusen will call the game with Erik Johnson and reporter Leah Hextall. Sean McDonough, Ray Ferraro and Emily Kaplan have the New York Rangers at Boston Bruins game at 8 p.m. Mike Monaco, Kevin Weekes and Stormy Buonantony are assigned to the Chicago Blackhawks at Vegas Golden Knights game at 10:30 p.m.
ESPN's Thursday streaming slate has the Philadelphia Flyers at New Jersey Devils at 7 p.m. ET, followed by the Blackhawks at Utah Mammoth at 9:30 p.m. ET. The network said commentator assignments could change.
