Duclair and Stanley earn Islanders locker-room honours
Duclair received the player-of-the-game oar, while Stanley took the hardest worker helmet after a two-assist night against Chicago.
The New York Islanders recognised Anthony Duclair and Logan Stanley in the dressing room after Thursday's 4-1 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Duclair received the player-of-the-game oar from Ilya Sorokin, while Stanley was given the hardest worker helmet.
Duclair scored his first goal of the season in the second period, finishing a pass from Stanley. Coach Pete DeBoer said he had spoken to Duclair that morning about returning to the level he showed in New York's first two games, after a less effective performance against the Rangers. DeBoer welcomed the response and the goal.
Stanley had two assists and played 23:51 alongside his new defence partner, Matthew Schaefer. His other assist came on Bo Horvat's second goal in the third period. Stanley has four points this season, all on home ice, according to the Islanders.
Stanley said he wants to keep his play simple and predictable alongside Schaefer, providing defensive cover so his partner can create with the puck.
