The Anaheim Ducks reached their Manhattan hotel at 2:30 a.m. Monday after a 15-hour journey from Southern California, NHL.com reported. They held their scheduled morning skate at 11:30 a.m. ET before facing the New York Rangers.

Sunday’s travel began at 8:30 a.m. PT at John Wayne Airport in Santa Ana. When their aircraft was diverted to Los Angeles International Airport, the team took a bus to LAX. Another delay followed: after nearly six hours aboard the plane, the travelling party switched aircraft and finally departed for Newark at 6:05 p.m. PT.

Jackson LaCombe said players passed the time watching football and playing cards. Cutter Gauthier said they had moved past the disruption and were concentrating on the game.

Anaheim opens its four-game East Coast trip against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden on Monday, Oct. 19, at 7 p.m. ET.
