Chromiak earns AHL Player of the Week after four-goal run
The Ontario Reign forward finished with six points in three games; all four goals came in the third period.
Martin Chromiak's four-goal week for the Ontario Reign brought him the AHL's weekly player award on Monday. The league selected him for the period ending Oct. 25 after he produced six points in three games.
Two of those goals decided games, and all four came in the third period. Against Calgary on Tuesday, Chromiak tied the score 18 seconds into the final period and struck again at 17:10 to give Ontario a 3-2 win.
He followed that performance with another three-point game at Texas on Friday. His goal with 4:24 left put the Reign ahead, and an empty-net goal helped finish a 5-3 victory. Texas held him without a point in Saturday's 5-2 Ontario loss; he recorded four shots.
Chromiak leads the Reign with six goals through eight games this season. He also has two assists, bringing his total to eight points.
