The Washington Capitals recalled Jonny Brodzinski from the Hershey Bears on Saturday, Oct. 17, and placed Pierre-Luc Dubois on injured reserve. General manager Chris Patrick announced both moves.

Brodzinski returns to Washington after scoring twice and adding three assists in four AHL games for Hershey. His 15 shots lead the Bears, and his five points rank second on the team. He also scored three goals in two preseason appearances for the Capitals.

Washington signed the forward on July 1 after six seasons in the New York Rangers organization. He produced six goals and 10 assists in 55 NHL games with New York last season.

The recall gives Brodzinski another opportunity with the Capitals after beginning the regular season in Hershey. The club’s announcement did not specify when Dubois would return.
