The Washington Capitals claimed defenceman Jack St. Ivany off waivers from the Winnipeg Jets on Saturday, Oct. 24, general manager Chris Patrick announced.

St. Ivany played four games for Winnipeg this season without a point, averaging 13:31 of ice time. The Jets acquired him from the Pittsburgh Penguins on June 29.

The 27-year-old had seven assists in 20 games for Pittsburgh last season. Philadelphia selected him in the fourth round, 112th overall, in the 2018 NHL Draft.
