For the 2026-27 season, the Vancouver Canucks will have six alternate captains and no captain, Sportsnet reported.

Defenceman Filip Hronek and forwards Linus Karlsson and Drew O’Connor are the alternates for home games. On the road, defenceman Zeev Buium joins forwards Brock Boeser and Elias Pettersson, according to Sportsnet.

The NHL’s Sept. 29 list of team captains shows Vancouver’s captaincy as vacant.

At a Sept. 16 media availability before training camp opened, coach Manny Malhotra said the Canucks were in no rush to assign letters and would wait for leaders to emerge, according to the team’s account.
