Byfuglien welcomes reunion with Jets alumni in Winnipeg

Dustin Byfuglien returned to Winnipeg on Saturday, Oct. 24, to join the Jets alumni for a game against former Montreal Canadiens players at Canada Life Centre.

Speaking before the game, Byfuglien said the reunion offered a chance to reconnect with former teammates. He said injuries and time away from his family had contributed to his decision to stop playing before the 2019-20 season.

Byfuglien said he does not miss playing and now spends much of his time with family and outdoors. Former Winnipeg coach Claude Noel returned behind the alumni bench and said he planned to start Byfuglien.
