Dallas begins a six-game homestand against the Boston Bruins on Tuesday, Oct. 20, with coach Glen Gulutzan looking for stronger starts at American Airlines Center. The game begins at 8 p.m. ET and is available on ESPN and SN+.

The Stars enter at 4-3-1, including a 1-2-0 home record. Their five road games have produced three wins, one regulation loss and one overtime or shootout loss. Gulutzan said improving the home record and the way Dallas opens games would be a focus this week.

Boston arrives at 7-2-0 after five consecutive victories, including wins in all three stops of its California swing. Dallas presents the final game of the Bruins’ four-game trip.

The matchup pairs teams allowing few goals with a substantial difference in scoring. Dallas has averaged 1.50 goals against and 2.38 goals for per game; Boston’s averages are 2.11 against and 3.78 for.

David Pastrnak has 12 points in nine games for Boston, with 10 of them coming during his current five-game point streak. He has also earned a point in each of his past eight appearances against Dallas.

Arttu Hyry supplied two goals in Dallas’s 4-0 win over Chicago on Saturday, his first NHL game with more than one goal. He has three goals this season, sharing the Stars’ team lead.

David Perron joined Dallas for practice Monday. Gulutzan said the winger would have a few practices before entering the lineup; his participation did not establish a debut date.
