Blue Jackets announce MTV-themed night for Oct. 17
Columbus hosts the first of four Jackets Jukebox games on Oct. 17 against the Rangers, with an 80s tribute band and limited-edition merch.
The Columbus Blue Jackets will stage their first Jackets Jukebox game on Saturday, Oct. 17, when they host the New York Rangers at Nationwide Arena.
The four-game series pairs hockey with music themes and live entertainment. Its opening night, called "I Want My CBJ," celebrates the MTV era of the 1980s and the network's 45th anniversary.
The Breakfast Club tribute band will perform on the concourse before the game, during intermissions and after the final whistle. The club also plans interactive photo opportunities and other themed activities.
A limited-edition Stinger T-shirt will go on sale online at the Blue Line Team Store at 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, followed by sales in store and at the game on Saturday. The $29.99 shirt comes with four guitar picks, a sticker and a Jackets Jukebox tote bag.
Columbus will announce the entertainment and merchandise plans for the other three games later in the season.
