Andrew Agozzino Retires After 15 Seasons in AHL
The veteran forward ends his career after 847 AHL games, 662 points, and multiple All-Star selections.
Andrew Agozzino has announced his retirement from professional hockey, ending a 15-year career spent almost entirely in the American Hockey League. The 35-year-old forward last played during the 2025-26 season with the Tucson Roadrunners, where he recorded 19 goals and 39 points in 56 games.
Agozzino played 847 career AHL games, accumulating 662 points on 284 goals and 378 assists across stops with ten different teams. The undrafted forward out of Niagara of the OHL was a two-time AHL All-Star, selected in 2013 and 2019, and twice earned his club's IOA/American Specialty AHL Man of the Year award, including with Tucson this past season.
He made his NHL debut with the Colorado Avalanche in 2014 and appeared in 53 NHL games over six organizations, most recently playing two games with the Utah Mammoth at the start of the 2025-26 season. At 34, he became just the seventh NHL player in the past 30 years to make an Opening Night roster for the first time at that age or older, according to insidetherink.com.
After being placed on waivers by Utah in October, Agozzino returned to Tucson, where he served as an alternate captain. He had reached 600 career AHL points in December 2024, becoming the 50th player in league history to do so, and finished his career ranked 34th all-time in AHL goals.
Agozzino had signed a one-year contract with EHC Biel-Bienne of Switzerland's National League in June, according to prohockeyrumors.com, but opted for retirement instead.
