AHL announces Hockey Fights Cancer nights for 22 clubs

Participating clubs will designate home games for awareness events as part of the NHL and NHLPA campaign.

AHL

Twenty-two AHL clubs will hold Hockey Fights Cancer awareness nights at home games this season, the league announced Friday.

The AHL is participating in the NHL and NHLPA campaign alongside the V Foundation for Cancer Research and presenting partner AstraZeneca. Clubs can mark their events with lavender uniforms and equipment details, arena displays and “I Fight For” cards.

The league and its teams also work with local hospitals, clinics and advocacy organizations. Donations to the campaign help fund research and support services for people with cancer and their families, including accommodation, meals and transportation.

The NHL and NHLPA established Hockey Fights Cancer in 1998. The AHL announcement includes the schedule of participating clubs’ awareness nights.
