Bauer Vapor Flylite Skate Revises Facing and Outsole Flex

Bauer’s Vapor FLYLITE skate puts five FUSION FLEX notches in the facing and pairs flexible FUSION CURV quarter materials with a FUSION FLEX outsole. The useful comparison is with the HYPERLITE 2 skate: Bauer already used engineered flex points in that model’s HYPERFLEX facing and outsole. FLYLITE revises that approach rather than introducing flex to Vapor for the first time.

Bauer describes the five facing notches as increasing forward flex and acting like a spring. It says the quarter materials and outsole work together to return energy during acceleration, transitions and stops. Those are manufacturer claims, not skating measurements by The Lab.

The older model’s official feature page identifies 3D Lasted Carbon CURV composite and an AEROLITE 2.0 tongue. FLYLITE’s official page highlights FUSION CURV materials, the FUSION FLEX outsole, a LOCKFIT PRO liner and updated toe-cap geometry. This establishes a change in the documented construction; it does not establish a measured speed gain or guarantee the same fit for an individual skater.

The Hockey Shop’s specification breakdown identifies the POWERFLY holder on FLYLITE. Bauer also documents POWERFLY on HYPERLITE 2, so that holder is a carry-over in this comparison. The retailer’s article is dated 15 September 2026. That is its publication date, not evidence that the skate launched that day.

Read the steel configuration before comparing prices

On 3 October 2026, Bauer’s US store listed the senior FLYLITE at US$1,039.99 before the separately priced steel selection; Bauer Canada listed it at CA$1,229.99. The US selector added US$190 for FLY-TI or US$140 for FLY-X. The Canadian selector added CA$220 for FLY-TI or CA$140 for FLY-X.

Bauer’s product data marked the size 8, FIT 2 senior boot configuration available in both stores. That check does not establish availability for every size, fit or runner combination. A boot price and a package including steel need matching configurations before their totals can be compared.
